Steering Lock Chime
 

Does anyone else's car chime at you to lock the steering column when using the keyless go?

Can this chime be disabled? It locks the steering column automatically anyway when the car is locked.

The chime goes for 30 seconds or so as long as the drivers door is opened.

Not found an answer to this but did notice if you do engage tge steering lock before opening the door it does not chime, so you could re train yourself till it becomes habit.

Mine just beeps once for the steering lock? The steering lock warning stays on the cluster display for about 10 or 15 seconds then disappears. The problem I have with this is that the headlight left on warning doesn't start until either the steering is locked or the steering warning goes away (10 or 15 secs). By which time I'm long gone with the lights left on! Bit annoying. I suppose I'll just have to get used to pressing the stop button twice...

Flattened the battery completely today. Came home at 6am from work, came back out at 4pm to go to work again and lights left on, not enough power to start the engine.

Anyone know if the lock steering warning can be turned off with vcds?
