Hi all.

Some of you may have seen a couple of the threads about the unfortunate issue with this car, which happened just last week.

So, before you read on........this car needs a replacement rack. I'm pretty sure the rack internal seals have failed and therefore it has dumped virtually all it's fluid.

The car is too nice to, dare I say it.....SCRAP! So, I wondered if someone might like to take the car on as a project?

I have neither the space or time to fix the car now.

The car has an MOT until early May, but, ideally should be trailered away.

Although it has achieved 199,200 miles, it still has many good points/bits that may benefit someone.
For example, it has a lovely grey interior with fully functioning front seats. The rear seat is heated too. The rest of the interior is also in very good condition.
It has the RNS D head unit fitted fitted.
It has the original 7 spoke ronal alloys (recently refurbished) with good tyres.
It has bi-xenon headlamps, elec rear blind, sunroof, etc. All functioning as they should.

I will consider a fair offer for the car.

Is the photo out of date or is the stereo double DIN with text based nav entry? I can see the GPS puck on the boot, but that's not an RNS-D in the pic

This car used to be owned by me until a year ago, the photos used are some I had. The car originally had the text nav, but I replaced the old headunit with an RNS-D which I purchased from Ranj on here. The unit is properly fitted with custom wiring loom, TMC module and fully interfaced with the DIS on the dash.

So yes, the pictures are outdated and the NAV is RNS-D now. Chris has had the boot paintwork resprayed since I owned it due to the lacquer peel problem I had.

I have a newer picture of the car, it looks fantastic in the photo he sent me.

I sold it on 191K miles, so its been fairly busy since I sold it.

For info the cambelt / thermostat / water pump /tensioner and aux beilt were all changed at 174K miles using genuine Audi parts at my local VAG specialist in January 2012.

Apologies- they are old pics, like Manny says, and I didn't spot the lack of 'RNS-D'.

Will be selling some S8 aluminium mirror caps, which I purchased for this car, and they have only been used on this car (no others).
Hope to get £280 for them when I advertise them.

Car just collected, on a flat bed lorry, to be taken to it's new owner (another forum member) in Scotland.
A great car, that I really enjoyed the ownership of, and it has (thankfully) avoided the scrapyard!
