Hvac doesn't know who's the boss

Hvac controls on my car appear to be coded for left hand drive but unfortunately there is no coding info or label files for it.

Is everyone's the same or is it just mine?

You can find out by pressing the fan speed button on your side and see if it says driver or passenger

Mine certainly says Driver for Driver and Passenger for Passenger correctly for RHD. I did test drive another '8 where is was labelled for a LHD car but didn't think much of it.

I don't know if this coding from an A6 may help?

Try this Del,

Go to the MMI secret menu (car+setup)

Go to Diag Settings

Uncheck Linkslenker (this is the setting for left hand drive vehicles)

Restart the MMI

Climate control should be back to the settings for a right hand drive car now!

No idea how you found that out Matt but your bang on it.

Cheers fella, I love this forum

Don't suppose you have a label file for 08 hvac do you

Btw I got your nav disk installed after removing the DVD lock, works a treat.

Excellent!

Not sure about a label file, is this what you want from VCDS?

Code:

Address 08: Auto HVAC        Labels: None
  Part No SW: 4E0 910 043    HW: 4E0 820 043 A
  Component: KLIMAAUTOMAT    015 0240
  Revision: 00000018    Serial number: 00000000023996
  Coding: 1069057
  Shop #: WSC 02311 785 00200
  VCID: 5ABB8B6F950D75F140B-800F

No fault code found.

See where it says label none, that means there is no tags for the info coming out when using measuring blocks.

Its a pain, when trying to fault find A/C for example.

There's quite a few controllers that don't have labels and it bugs the OCD in me TBH

You can make your own label file.
Use ELSA for what each section is, add it to a file and your done.

I hate not having label files.
