boot opening - interior door switch

hi,

i have bit of an issue with a boot... first thing first it does not open up from the switch on driver's door [fuel flap option works fine though :)]. I tried the fuse, looked at VCDS [no errors or issues flagged] and i'm sort of left in no man's land at the mo?! Any suggestions?

also worth mentioning [which is yet another annoying thing] is that as soon as you start the car you cannot open the boot!? Again i looked in VCDS for obvious errors and haven't found any so guess it is just the way it's coded. Which brings me to question #2 - can it be re-coded in VCDS to open up when doors are open and close when lock is ON/manually selected etc?

cheers

Can you post up what the coding is currently please and someone here (might even be me) will explain and recommend.

cheers... will certainly do.

Any suggestions where to look at in VCDS/what info should i provide?

Much appreciated.

If you do an auto scan then save the log at the end of the scan, you will then find that in your vcds folder in a folder named logs.

Copy all the text from the log and post it here.

As for you issues the behaviour is normal as far as i am aware because i have noticed it too on my car when taking stuff to the dump. if the engine is running you cant open the boot from outside which makes sense as you don't want some ned stealing your stuff.

If your button on the drivers door worked you can open the boot that way with the engine running.

Thats exactly the same as the D2 and I would think that that mode of operation was "hard wired" for the reason Delboy mentions above.

There is an option in the security coding called "rear lid logic" which may or may not be relevant. ;)

cheers... log file attached for your perusal.

You'll notice 'faults' related to Keyless entry and R138 which is something i'll post in another thread :).

thanks...

all good... it was a silly beginner's mistake and as it always turns out it was a simple 'fix':tuttut:.

Boot was locked so I turned it 'off' with a key and voila... it works fine now.

Cheers for your help and advice given.

Haha that's a good one, we often overlook the simple things

I did the same thing with my misses zafira, I never done that again, I was pooping myself thinking I'd get my ears boxed in for breaking the boot lol!
