I recently had an issue with my pinch while doing do some bushes and replaced the whole upright.

While do some other work to the car I noticed a difference in the uprights.

I'm getting my old upright machined to put back on the Car but I'm wondering if anyone know if there is two different A8 uprights or what this one came off?

According to the parts catalog:

F >> 4E-4-012 700
4E0407253R Left
4E0407254R Right

F 4E-4-012 701>>
4E0407253Q Left
4E0407254Q Right

I checked ETKA but not at the time of purche.
The advert stated A8 D3.

I wonder what car this is for 4E0258?

4E0 at the start means it is for D3 but part number should be at least 9 characters long.

Maybe for 2wd A8 that there were a low number of - google image search shows them in an assembly with no half-shaft/drive flange.
Mine is also the same as your original.
