Hmmm...soft brake after pad / disc change...?

Done my rear pads and discs this weekend (and finally fitted my rear spacers...yum:love:).

Pedal now has no bite at the top of its travel....falls away then finally bites maybe half way down to the floor. Strange. I haven't lost any fluid.

Any ideas?

sounds like some air has got into the system when the change was done, normally putting in new pads means there is more fluid in the reservoir and you have to take some out. I would bleed the system again as a minimum, I dont know what sort of age the fluid is at, but it is recommended to change the fluid every 2-3 years anyway so maybe do that and bleed the system through of all the fluid at the same time - its amazing how it changes colour and properties when it gets older and older inside your system +++

I concur with the above.

Last time I renewed pads and shoes on my A2 I got air into the system, and bought an eezibleed doo da, while not essential, it's easier than roping someone into help and good to have in the garage.

And I renewed the brake fluid while I was there. Two birds and one stone etc.

Thanks gents - my thoughts precisely, although can't work out how it happened. I'll bleed the rears tonight.
