That's also true but there is another factor we have to consider.
There is a member of staff where my wife works who for reasons unknown to us, has more than once put nails into her car tyres. Once she turned up in a brand new Polo courtesy car while hers was being serviced and he even wrote something on the windscreen. We couldn't tell what it said as it was in wood glue or something like that.
Later that day he made a veiled comment about her new car to which she replied no, it belongs to the garage. He couldn't get away quick enough.
She knows it's him as he's stupid enough to virtually boast about what he's done. It's like he wants her to know. She hasn't taken any action previously as she'd have to prove it, but after the cancer she's now got a zero-tolerance policy to fools and timewasters, so if it happens again he'll suffer.
The point is, if she rocks up back at work after 8 months off in an S8 which will literally dwarf the Kia Picantos and Corsas which teachers seem to drive, he'll make a bee-line for it.
He's got a chip on his shoulder about how much teachers earn (she's a deputy head, he's the caretaker) but he doesn't seem to comprehend that it's an old and cheap car. In his mind, she must be earning bjillions as it's a big car.
Same applies if we got the RR; he'll won't be able to contain his resentment. I'm already looking into installing motion-activated in-car cameras.
