Still stuck in customs, I could argue the return thing but the guy actually popped an Audi OEM lambda in there for me which was a lot cheaper then from the UK, so it would depend if they open it. I don't even mind paying it now. Just want the lights now so I can drive again. I have sold a few things to the US worth more then these lights and never had a problem, just seems like there's a problem with them coming in. I paid extra to USPS have the lights this Monday as well. 
For anyone else that wants to do this, make sure the sender in the US puts the value of the lights below £36 and as long as its also marked as a gift between two domestic addresses it should sail through. The A8s arrived in the US yesterday, going to get the sender to put the value as $10, even though I'm forking out £70 extra for super quick two day delivery (Fedex).
Anyway, hope someone learns from my mistake.
