In addition to the land barge that is the A8, I have quite the passion for the A2, the model that cost around £16,000 new and cost Audi another £6,000 per vehicle to produce.
The very practical car that is remarkably well made and fuel efficient. The lightweight pint-sized tank.
While I'm more a fan of the 3 cyl diesel, they generally command a higher price and avoid the the scrapyards because of their epic fuel efficiency and quite addictive character.
Anyway,..
My latest purchase/rescue from the scrapyard in the sky....
As a member of A2OC, I was lucky enough to get first dibs on this, on the proviso I try my best to keep it on the road.
Needs A LOT of TLC, after what I think has been 11 years and 160k miles of being deployed as a mobile kennel and leaf, mold, moss and crap receptacle.
Needs a clutch and a new MOT next month. Was told it needed towing. I drove it about 25 miles home in the end. While Wifey was in the 8. Fair to say I had more fun!! Came with 2 keys and I managed to reach 60mph at one point.
Finally, the view most people will see, what with a widow-making 75 bhp and 92.9 lbs/ft of PURE TORQUE!!!
