OK, try tracing the wires back from the motor, you can just about see them with the bonnet open.
On my PF there were two connectors close by and disconnecting one of them did the job, very quick and easy.

On the FL I could only see one connector and it wasn't in the right circuit, so I traced the wires and cut (and sealed off properly) the relevant pair. Later, with the air intake plastic cover removed for another purpose (quick easy job) I spotted what appeared to be a connector just a bit further along the loom.

So, if you can't see the right connector take the air intake cover off too and look there, the connector may have moved slightly with the facelift. This assumes the 2.8 is similar to the 4.2 of course.

e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
