I wondered why you'd studiously avoided commenting on my S5 suggestion (admittedly in wrong body style!)
Ref pre/post facelift there are 2 major changes. Later mmi 3G+ with google maps which costs money to update. What you also get of more practical benefit is genuinely better fuel economy. Think 4+ mpg difference on average
Our S5 has never bettered 26mpg no matter how carefully driven. In typical usage it's no better than the d2 really and has a stupid range as the tank is tiny
Facelifts have a different supercharger and engine management which accounts for much of the difference, as well as stop start and an eco mode
Flappy paddle upshifts are quite amusing
