Default Washers not working - pipework issue?

Bit of a rubbish day on the road yesterday, 7.5 hours total driving, of which over 6 was fortunately in the S8 - mostly in Friday traffic jams and awful weather (rain, sleet, snow, hail etc. etc.).
The first two hours (outward trip) were not bad, just the odd snow shower, and the wipers and washers worked fine. Well, not quite 100% as one jet (far nearside one) was a bit blocked, but three and a bit were adequate.

But at the start of the way back the washers failed, at first a tiny dribble then nothing. Topped up to be sure but not a drop on the screen. Headlight wash was working fine. Over 4 hours in crap weather and jams so it wasn't great.

Checked this morning and the pump is running, sounding normal. Water is pouring out under the car, coming down both sides - presumably from the scuttle drains.
A quick look in the scuttle (what of it you can see) and there's evidence of fresh bubbly dampness. It's been dry overnight here.

Conclusion - split or disconnected tubing to the jets. But where to start to investigate?
What has to come off (and how) to see what is wrong?

Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
