As I turned into the main road and speeded up I realised the revs were high and progress wasn't as fast as expected, but it did change up at least one gear, still with high revs. 30 limit so didn't test more changes.
The usual lift-off and press again with the right foot resumed normal progress with the quick "something changed" feeling/movement from the gearbox, drop in revs and the usual responsiveness.

Prior to this the car had been driven a few miles so was fairly warm, then sat for about 15 minutes on my drive. I then got in and drove about 200 yards downhill to the main road, stopped briefly and turned right.

Any thoughts anyone?
Mine used to do exactly the same, as I mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm pretty sure it was a new brake pedal switch that cured it. Trying to remember if it ever occurred after that and before I had the gearbox rebuilt (and the F125 switch replaced) but the fault seems to be completely gone now. Even if your brake switch is properly adjusted, it may be that the contacts are a little dirty/sticky. Next time it does it, perhaps try tapping the brake pedal with your left foot.
