I don't know to be honest. Mine was diagnosed and replaced by a garage. Apart from the rather uncomfortable, upside-down, head-in-the-footwell position you would need to be in, I think it's fairly accessible. It didn't take the garage long to replace it and there was no major disassembly involved. I believe it just screws in a bit like this . The contacts aren't immediately accessible though so of course you'd need to remove it, dismantle it, clean the contacts, re-assemble it, re-install it and re-adjust it.
