Sorry I've been slacking on the updates The Pizza Dude just arrived at the workshop so here's a big one to compensate.

Electronics box repair - I've shown this before, but again for those who may have missed it.

Where the inserts have come out, drill the hole out to 7mm

Then countersink a little by hand with a 12mm

Then you need some of these guys - Type D threaded inserts

Screw them in the new holes, flush with the box

Fixed

I've bought new screws for the cover. I'll show them tomorrow.

Big Red ventured out in to the daylight for the first time in a month so she could turn round ready for the next few jobs.

This

Cleaned off some underseal

The metal had stretched so I had to cut the edge back a little so the bits would go flush again. Had to resort to a self-tapper to pull the sprag out. I don't know what grade this stuff is, but its amazingly hard for 1mm thick. It was not fun to work with!

Got it flush

Prior to welding, I removed the arch liner and the two body bungs

So I could remove all this highly flammable expanding foam!

The local tig guy came by and welded it up. It was quite a tricky job since the panel was so thin, but attached to a 2 ton heatsink! I should have taken off the underseal a bit further I think.

I'll flatten this off a bit tomorrow and feather the underseal, then re-prime and try to match in some spray-on underseal.

Pulled the rear suspension off to do the bushes

The bushes in the bottom of the hub just popped out with a screwdriver! Proper fubar

The ones in the lower arm weren't much better although the alloy sleeves needed a little persuading

Definitely time for replacement. I made some tools to get them out and back in again

Cleaned up the arm ready for the new bushes

Push them in using the special tools

Ready to go back on
