Default 4.2 V8 Serpentine / Alternator Belt

Hi There,

Just fitting a new coolant tank and then re-fitting the under tray after draining and i was looking if you could access the front parking sensors easily (you can't) and notice that my belt has a slit it it. It's reasonably small atm and along the belt ( if it goes i'd have two belts about 1/3 and 2/3 width).

At first it was a minor panic as I was worried it was the timing belt, but it it isn't and that's a toothed belt which makes far more sense.

However i'm now researching how to replace as loosing things like the alternator and power steering would be a royal pain etc.

Anyone know much??? I'd prefer not to have to take the front end off for example.

Did one on my jeep with a bit of swearing and wiggling of things, though that had a little more space and less AUDI ideas of lets take the whole car apart for an o-ring and charge the customer thousands

Ta,
Lee
