1/ Why. She's not listening
2/ Why. If she was listening, which she isn't, she knows you're wrong, talking drivel and probably both these simultaneously.
3/ The remarkable thing about you doing both simultaneously, is she knows that this is impossible, so you wont be, cos your a man and cant multi-task. If you were to present her with this obvious contradiction in her reasoning, she'll have you on the drivel charge.

Peeps. The point about TV in motion is not that you are NOT looking at the screen when its on. Its that you CANT HELP looking at the screen when its in your line of sight.
