A couple of years ago I removed the plates on mine (no easy), cleaned off the corrosion and now the pads fit nicely. I've tried Pagid, Brembo and original OEM to see if there was any improvement in the braking but there didn't seem to be. All slid in easily enough though.
I had mine rebuilt a few years ago and when they are split and the area behind the stainless steel sliders cleaned and sealed and the sliders bent back to shape they accepted pads no problem. Trouble is that at the recent service the Brembo pads needed filing to fit so the corrosion has started again
