Yes, for the uninitiated. Its quite an ordeal to get it out of the tank, and then even more so to get it back in properly. If its not seated properly (or the wrong pump is used) then you run out of fuel at 1/4 tank.
Even once the housing is out (and with 1/2 tank or more there is going to be fuel everywhere in the boot unless you know what's coming), in this weather it just wants to shatter. It needs warming up so that the plastic clips come undone, then its just fiddly and annoying.
