I got the bad news this morning.....
Basically the gearbox hadn't been fitted correctly and as such its chewed the torque convertor and pump to bits and there is a shed load of swarf floating round the box. Only option now is a full recon which I've been quoted 2.5K including changing teh flexplate thing.
I've no real option I guess at this point as the only other option is to strip it or scrap it. I'm guessing as bits its only worth at best a grand. Fixed it will have 12 months unlimited mileage warranty. either way I lose 2.5K, with one way I end up with a car that should be fine for another 3-4 years and I'll know the box should be fine if I keep the fluid services up with Chester. The other I have a grand in my pocket and no car. not really an option is it.
Could have done without it as Mrs entwisi is due to drop our second little entwisi in 4 months.
Better start siging up for some of this extra overtime thats going at work.
