I thought that would be the case.

I previously owned a '96 A8 4,2 Quattro Sport, with the first of the 5-speed tips. Drove well, I replaced it with a '98 S8. Now this S8 had just had a brand new Audi transmission, torque converter and TCU fitted. It had been installed just 3 months before I bought the car. At the time, I wasn't aware the tips in D2'a was a problem. I was also asked if I wanted to take the old tranny with me - it was meant to go back to Audi, but never did.

I had all the receipts from AFN Audi, the tranny had a 2 year / 24,000 mile warranty. Had I known, I would have parted out, rather than sell her complete!
