[S8yot]

Finally collected last year's birthday pressie from wife of Audi R8 "experience". Eight laps of a circuit at the MIRA proving ground. Pleased with myself that everone else in the Lambo's, Astons & Ferraris seemed to be constantly holding me up! Very nice and gorgeous sound but it really brings home what a great car the S8 is. Yes, the R8 is faster and the handling / cornering is superb but I felt the difference in performance between and S8 and an R8 isn't as dramatic as the difference between most other cars I've driven (which include some decent BMW's & ur-quattro) and the S8. Oh yes, and the manual seat / streering wheel adjustment was a bit primative!

If anyone else has the chance, personally I wouldn't go to MIRA but stick to proper circuits as I've done before. The circuit at MIRA wasn't very large or challenging.

Finally, if anyone out there has the funds to buy a used R8 check the previous owner wasn't "Everyman Racing"!
