I'd get in touch with Audi head office too, just to make sure you get your money back (or at worst have a formal complaint lodged against the dealer) they can't expect you to splash out best part of 40k for a motor in that kind of state. Sounds horrendous and far too much stress for what should be a straightforward purchase.
