..ran a black 3 door '91 16v Golf GTI for a couple of years. Mint and unmolested other than TSW deep dish 5 spokes that suited the car perfectly (and smoked lenses, eyebrow - the usual).
Can honestly say I had more fun in that car than any other
. Loved scaring myself witless with lift-off oversteer on tight slip roads...
P/Xed it for a Jap import WRX when no-one new about them (bit of a pioneer on that front, me), then got upset when every b****r started buying them

Those were the days. Wish I still had the golf, although my neighbour recently bought a 80kmile '91 oak green 5 door, and I was shocked to see how tatty it is. Can't be many unmolested minters around anymore.
