Thanks Guys I am frankly confused by getting these offsets right and the effects on the car etc.
I only have a couple of pictures showing the clearance but I would think it could accomodate 3mm without any ill effects but I didn't want to get a narrower wheel if possible, just seems there are more 8.5" versions about than 9"
Also when I had the air compressor pack up the car didn't sit low it seemed to adopt a fixed position which appeared not noticeably lower than normal tbh. Bloody hard though But I do appreciate the need for maintaining the correct gaps and would rather stay on the cautious side to avoid any issues.

Fronts seem to have even more clearance to me. Don't have any other pictures on the laptop.
Have also managed to find these with an ET 48 with the following on the casting A1 Si7 WA
4F0601025
JiL K3
AU045AA3
851x19H2

the majority of wheels for Audi's seem to be ET's in the mid 30 which I think fitted the A4?
I'll keep looking as they do seem to fetch a lot of cash!
annoying part is my current wheels look fine and I like them but with two buckled this seems the best alternative. Although perhaps one of these wheel refurbishers will call me back, doesn't instill confidence
Cheers
Glyn
