I used mine in a layby, youngest in the back asleep, pishing with rain, spare out the boot with tools, cracked the wheel nuts, jacked up the car, took flat off, picked up the spare offered it on and the bolt holes don't line up
jacked up a touch more and now i realise that the jack is bending and the car dropping. I battled with it for about half an hour trying to get it to lift but just ended up soaked, cold and extreamly angry, at that point i just wanted the guy who designed it to turn up.
I ordered one from A8 Parts too but when it arrived it too was bent, a quick call and with no problems another was sent out, this one is still in the boot (although bent now because i've used it) along with a steel one i found in the shed from something.
They may well be ok on a workshop floor or similar but i definatly wouldn't be putting anything under the car i wouldn't be happy getting crushed
