Hmm...To be honest my daily average fuel consumption is about 12mpg.
On some occasions it goes up to 14-17mpg.
BUT, last Saturday I set my self a task to break that record (the economy one) and I drove 54miles both ways from SE London to NW. I went there 7am and I was coming back 12pm. I've never ever experienced such a drive, never. The average consumption was 21mpg !!! This is something really new to me and it proves that this cars can be economical, kind off
Top revs 2000rpm, most of the time 1500. 2000rpm only when shifting from first gear to second.
Also couple of months ago I've experienced something strange, it kind of makes sense, but I thought I will share it and see what you guys think about it.
All my life I put only VPower unleaded, no supermarket petrol stations or anything other than Shell. One day when stopped to fill up, I filled tank with FuelSave, normal unleaded.
Result:
I'm doing slightly more mpgs on VPower than on normal unleaded, same driving style and traffic.
So if you can do slightly more miles for slightly more expensive petrol, then the overall cost is more less the same, and on top of it ride is smoother.
