Sun visor lights intermittent
Well yes, not exactly the end of the world, but hey most of us are here because we want our cars perfect!
I replaced the bulbs in my visors with LED festoons recently and noticed one side was somewhat dim and varied; occasionally it didn't work at all.
It's not the obvious wiring around the switch and bulbs (behind the mirror) nor is it the metal contacts on the end at the centre.
It seems to be something inside the body of the visor or near the swivel attachment, presumably the wire comes through the inside of that swivelling tube. Manipulating the body of the visor makes the lights go on and off, though not in any totally predictable way. I've done this with the cover/mirror removed and the switch taped down so I know it's not that simple.
I can't see any obvious way to get further inside the visor, or to detach it from the car. It's an alcantara-covered one so looks pretty impregnable! Anyone know how?
