16 I got an ex Post Office BSA Bantam 125cc, passed my test and went onto 250cc then a BSA Gold Star 650cc - dogs bollocks in these days!
At age 17 I bought a Wolseley for £17 -10 Shillings, skimmed all the brake drums at school as a Project then sold it on for £25.
Now that I was a car dealer I used to buy cars from the Glasgow Market, do any work and re-sell. That helped with University expenses ie drink and wimmen and worked for a year or so until I had the Police at the door about a cut n shut. I lost out on that so decided Car Dealer I was not!
20ish I fell in love with Mk 11 Jaguars had lots of them and every one needed constant attention for summat or other.
24 or so I got married and my missus liked Minis we had about 6 or so over 10 years, while I had a Cortina Classic, Hillmans inc a few Imps and a Triumph TR6 IRS fast in a straight line but did not like corners!
30 odd 3 kids so we needed big family things, mostly Ford Estates.
40s graduated to Land Rovers/Range Rovers still got 6 but only 3 Road Legal ones at the moment.
50s back to Jaguars, XJ6s I had to try but they still needed lots of TLC. BMWs I only ever had one, a 525, hated the seats and driving position all squint I found. A Merc or 2 my E300 was a lovely car.
60s found an A8 4.2 Quattro I still try other things but its my favourite by far currently looking for another one.
