I have run my 2006 s8 v10 for 30,000 miles from 60k to 90k. I put up a post on running costs in this post

Strongly recommend a warranty, mine has cost over 7k in repairs to power steering pump twice, air suspension pump and both rear brake caliper motors. I have a policy from Warrantywise.
Despite that, I love it for performance bang & oluffsen stereo and comfort over daily 150 mile drive. Usual security on winter conditions on winter tyres added bonus!
