There is a horses for courses argument here... Though I did have Pirelli P6000 on a car a few years ago (Rover 620ti), and in the wet the thing was deadly, just washed out on the merest hint of power in the wet, so a lot of how the tyre behaves (or seems to) is down to the car and how you drive it too. If you know that you have budgets on, you'll give more space in the wet.
