HOWTO: Add missing items back to MMI menu following upgrade
Just a quick how to on placing missing items back into the system menu following upgrade of the MMI to the last version. These are the items I have found missing from mine after upgrading.
First thing you need to do for all is use VCDS to enable the hidden menu.
Enable Hidden Menu
Controller 07 - MMI Control Head,
Adaption Channel 8, set Value to 1 , Test, Save.
Reboot MMI (Tel, Big button, top right action button)
Missing Battery Meter.
Enter hidden Menu, from Radio press and hold Setup and Car until green menu appears,
Scroll down and select DIAG SETTINGS, press Enter
Scroll down to Car Menus Maske, Press Enter
Scroll down to Battery Meter, Press Enter so tick appears.
Scroll down to Accept Changes and Press Enter.
No need to reboot MMI, option "Battery Meter" should now be in systems menu.
Missing Instrument Cluster option, for setting trip computer options and speed limiter.
Enter hidden Menu, from Radio press and hold Setup and Car until green menu appears,
Scroll down and select DIAG SETTINGS, press Enter
Scroll down and select APK 0x01, 0x0B, 0x0C, press Enter
Scroll down to BOARDCOMPUTER, press Enter so tick appears
Scroll down to Accept Changes and press Enter
No need to reboot MMI, option "Instrument Cluster" should be in Systems Menu.
Be very careful in the hidden menu, under no circumstances select the "Boot Loader" option, you'll be stuck having to reload all firmware CDs from scratch.
After upgrading my MMI, I had an error in 07 - Control Head
00003 - Control Module
005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation
This was because the control head lost the coding for the fixed motorola phone installed in my car, so using VCDS
07 - Control Head,
Adaption Channel 12, most likely set to zero like mine was. Pick the correct setting from below.
0 - No Telephone installed
1 - Fixed Motorola Phone (eg. Phone handset in centre console)
2 - Mobile Phone Prep or Bluetooth installed.
3 - Telematics installed.
Test, Save, Restart MMI.
