Handbrake was the same as the plastic around it, a sort of muddy beige, so somewhat darker than the seats. No photo.
It did take several coats, and the Woolies instruction do warn about the risks of using it to change colours, especially going lighter as I did!

I did one coat (after cleaning) with a cloth as they advise, to work into any cracks/flaws, though there were almost none. After that I painted very thin layers on with an artists brush; squirrel hair for watercolour work IIRC. About 3 thin coats after the cloth work and leaving an hour between each to dry in a warm place (on top of the boiler). Finished off with the Woolies waxy sealer.

But you have got me thinking about the gear knob. How easily does it come off? My "chrome" button is in a pretty bad way so I want to refurbish or replace it anyway.

Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
