No, it doesn't matter if you turn it up or down it simply either goes silent or blasting.
Interestingly enough though, I was out for a few hours yesterday & the sound returned to normal so I wonder if it is simply to do with the cold?
....and now the aerial isn't raising
although I'm hoping that's just a fuse, I'll check it out over the weekend.
