I added an RNS-D to my old D2.

You will not get any info from the DIS without additional coding, wiring and the addition of a TMC module.

The RNS-D talks a different protocol that the DIS does not understand, the TMC module converts between the two protocols and allows the DIS to work.

Wiring in the TMC module is quiet involved as you have to splice into the wiring behind the instrument cluster.

The attached guide will help you through adding a TMC. The guide is for an A6 but the procedure is basically the same although some steps are not needed at all.
