Default choosing a new battery for your beast

have been researching the current state of leisure battery technology for replacing those on my even bigger beast , and I came across this article which made me realise that everything I believed was out of date

http://www.atlanticmotorhomeservices...technology.php

if you take the time to read it you will find information that will perhaps influence you next time you need a battery , has certainly influenced me !

not only did I not realise that the S5/H3 type of battery had a fully charged voltage of 13.2 instead of the usual 12.7 but I didn't know that the vehicles which use the ....switch of the engine at the traffic lights .....system need not only a different type of battery but a different charging system !

ah well , even old BOF's like me can live and learn !

by the way , Johnson's Controls of the USA are the worlds biggest vehicle battery manufacturer , own Varta and make the Bosch batteries as well as many other brands
