it's the usual answer , a definite maybe

bearing in mind SOME locksmiths can come along and get you going when you have lost your keys it is obvious that not only audi dealers can do this , but it is equally obvious that this can only be done by reprogramming the ECU which is what audi do

so my idea of just taking a working key to a locksmith is a no no as pointed out

of course some lucky people may have the PIN which changes everything , yes I know it CAN be extracted but convulted isn't the word

so it looks like get the keys cut and off to a different audi dealer who WILL code the ECU to the transponders , if budget allows [ I'll be sitting down when I read this thread 89 , who much did you get quoted ? ]

or if that isn't possible , as baldrick so wisely says , I have a cunning plan ......flip key cut , plain flat key cut , extract transponder from working flip key , put in plain flat key , conceal inside car , use remotes only for access ; yes , I know some have glued the transponder to ignition barrel but it's not for me !
