It used to be recommended that new tyres went on the front as was the end that did most the work, however now that most cars are front wheel drive and have been for many years now and the art of holding a car sideways or knowing what to do when a car hops out it is deemed a front blow out is easier to control than a rear one. So new tyres recommended to go on the rear.
