I've never had any issues while bleeding the brakes.... yet. Fluid is available in different colours too, so you can syringe out the reservoir, fill up with red fluid and starting at the back bleed till you get red fluid out.
Thanks Dezzy, I had a tee-shirt once which stated "He who dies with the most tools, wins". Now gone to the big rag bag in the sky unfortunately.

I was aware of the different colours fluids to help determine when the system was flushed. Mine is currently green and I noticed the other day that The Lairds was red.
