The screen has gone blank (black) on the A4, no gradual fading or loss of detail, went from working fine to nothing almost immediately.

Anyone experienced this with any Audi model?

Yes in my experience it's usually a break in the most loop

I'd agree with that - either a break or it has come unplugged somewhere

I'd start by looking anywhere that "may have been recently disturbed" or behind the glove box area is a particular favourite. Sometimes a VAGCOM scan shows where the signal is getting to and not getting to which may help as well

If its in a B7 its an RNS-e surely? In which case its probably just the ribbon cable to the screen.
