Following the saga of my car refusing to open, here's another issue. The keys are now sorted and the 'blippers' work fine. But, although I can lock the car with the key, it won't unlock with the key.
Any ideas where to start? ![]() |

at the most basic could it be the tumbler turning when you try to unlock?
if not then take a look at THIS article and see if you can get anything useful from it

I have not had anything to do with FL A/S8 and even have not had problems with my PF S8 central locking so information below is generic but should still apply in your case.
As I can see You have 2 problems: 1. Central locking does not register electrical signal from the switch in the lock in the door when unlocking either because of faulty switch, mechanical fault not engaging the switch, wiring or fault in central locking unit. 2. Mechanical link between lock cylinder and lock does not work either because it has become detached, bent, loose, broken or fault in lock. As there should be mechanical link allowing to unlock single door by key for example when battery is flat and central locking does not work. You will need to remove door card maybe even split door in half to get access and investigate the points above. |
