Default Factory Phone, the one with the SIM in the console

My D3 has the factory motorola kit, with the SIM card in the console and separate handset. I always use it hands free, so never really bothered with the handset. The handset only ever comes into play when showing people the car, its more of a gimmick as the driver cannot use it.

Move forward to today, I was cleaning the interior when I lift up the armrest and see that the handset has split into two pieces. it look like the clips holding it together have failed with age.

Handset still works fine, except now its split apart and the cheap chinese battery I put in also needs replacing as its charge was not 100% after taking lifting out the handset. Battery has not expanded or anything, whats happened is weird, never seen anything like it.

Now to superglue the poor thing back together, and hope it holds.
