Default D2 S8 had a bump, on a flatbed

Friend of my spotted this and sent me a picture, today in Essex. Number plate was 'W1 ***'

Nobody on here I hope?! Looks Aqua Blue to me

Ouch!

Coulda' done with a bigger flatbed.


I hope it's not off to the knacker's yard. The damage looks minor but the cost to repair that might still exceed its worth. If it were mine, I'd have it repaired regardless, but I would imagine many of the few D2s that are left still get scrapped because of minor damage like that.

Unfortunately, yes. If any of the panels are crinkled or damaged then it's a bit like trying to flatten out some scrunched up tin foil, very difficult.

That will be a breakers yard car, all due to the body being aluminium and therefore very expensive to correct due to almost nobody in that trade. Headlights are the best part of £800 each in addition we cannot see if the airbags have deployed..

At least this S8 did not die due to the gearbox.
