I've been given a Fujitsu amilo M3438g laptop which i want to use for vag com. It's got a duff screen which i think is down to a broken inverter - the laptop boots up and you can see the display very faintly, the screen is staying black due to backlight not working.
I've managed to find an inverter board off a same model laptop, but the part number is different - is it worth buying and risk fitting it or is it likely to cause damage elsewhere? |

Do the components look similar, as it could just be a revised inverter.
If it's cheap, I'd risk it as the likelihood of other damage should be small.

Yes, identical except for the part number on the label attached to it.
