Great day. Really nice meeting everyone, catching up and checking out all those drool worthy cars.
Mike. Sorry I didn't see you to say goodbye. I had to make it back to get to a concert in Brum this evening (just leaving to go there now).
Thanks for arranging the pre meet breakfast, brilliant way to start the day. Much appreciated.
Here's to the next one. And Amar, you have to bring your girlfriend along again too, unless you have your own wheels. But bring her anyway

Another post from your romping reporter . . . . .

Mike turned up for the fat boy breakfast at the Crown in what we all assumed was a theatrical "smoke effect" entrance, but it turned out
to be a slightly loose rocker cover gasket leaking oil on his manifold - nothing that couldnt be fixed, so 8 cars turned up at the crown and
most had breakfast before departing to Castle Combe a few minutes away in a convoy of 8's!

When we convoyed in we met up with Darren and Mel & Steve who had already arrived - 10 cars!
A further 3 cars (Oli, Ian & Dave, and TopGolfer) arrived so we were up to 13 and there were a few other 8's dotted around the paddock
including a Green P reg 4.2 A8 from Sheffield, a Mike S8 lookylikey Ming blue, and Roberto in his White D3, plus a nice D4 A8 at one stage!

Reffro and Darren both went on the track to mix it up with all the RS's but A8_Tony was sorely missed for his more entertaining driving!
At one stage though Mike did look a tad worried to be going out with Darren as a passenger!!

It was great to see Amar and his girlfriend there and thanks to her for bringing him along - he needed his 8 fix as much as all the rest of us,
especially at the current time. . . keep your eyes peeled for his green car still guys. . .

Finally Ben was also presented with a scale model Bugatti Veyron as a token of appreciation for all his hard work and input to both the club
and all of the cars he has worked on, and to wish him well as he embarks on his new role - I'm sure we will still all remain in touch!

From a personal point of view it was just great to catch up with everybody especially those I didnt see for a while, testing Nicks'
stereo in the V10 S8 was as good as expected, and proving by measurement that James' suspension was indeed still at least
20mm LOWER than Mike's Projeckt AnA car was worth lending him the tape measure to see the look on his face!

Thanks again for a great day everyone, and to mike for organising the breakfast and the passes!

Back after a much quicker drive now I'm less paranoid about the sqeaks Project AnA makes.

A quick correction is in order, the photo below is not as a result of being driven round the circuit by Darren............we are still in the car park!!! 44

I'll post my photos when I have had my tea.

Well I'm back on my sofa now relaxing after a long day.

Great breakfast at The Crown Inn, thanks Mike for sorting that, best 6 quid I've spent in a long while.

At the track, nice to meet everyone again. We had a good turnout and were attracting a lot of people over to gawp and admire. Kudos to Sandy for driving Amar down for the day and joining in.

I relented to my inner demon and took to the track. I took it gentle in my first session but still left the track with nicely warmed brakes and tyres. I gave it a better go 2nd time out, ESP off, just letting the 4wd do its thing, I was a lot quicker and apart from some muppet in an S3 giving me a big scare (he tried and failed miserably to overtake me on the brakes and go up the inside into Quarry bend, strictly against the rules.......) WOW!! what fun, my brakes were top thankfully (EBC, I forgive you the noise for a consistent pedal) and my tyres hung on gamely thought they did get a bit heated and squidgy. I called it quits after that, not wishing to push my luck, or break the car.

Just got to make my car louder, everyone said they couldn't hear a thing out of it. What's the point of having a V8 if you can't share the noise????
