Hi there,
In my 2001 S8 I have what I believe is the Cullman phone cradle for the Nokia 6310i (remember those?) ![]() This of course uses the amplifier adjacent to the TV Tuner and external antenna. Since I have had the RNS-E since 2007 with the BT module I only use the cradle occasionally for charging - when I cradle the 6310i it immediately disconnects the BT side of things... ![]() When an incoming call comes in it does mute the RNS-E but unlike the older RNS-D I am unable to hear it ringing or do anything with it...not that I would want to of course as BT is so much better... ![]() What I would like to know is would it be possible to disconnect the relevant pins/wiring from the cradle, its multi-pin plug or wiring harness to the socket to allow the 'phone to retain it's BT connection while charging and also using the amplifier/external antenna? I remember contacting Paragon in Germany who responded as follows; ----------snip---------- Concerning the data sheets we are very sorry that we are not allowed to sent you any information. These are internal information of Audi. If you only want to charge your mobile phone with the cradle there must be a data connection between the cradle and the interfacebox at least at HF-connection. In your situation the HF-connection is the small connector which is inside the big connector. So finally only charging and using the external antenna is not possible. We are sorry not be able to give you a solution for your problem. ----------snip---------- So I gave it up as a bad job but I thought I would revisit this issue to see if someone else has trodden this path in the 3+ years since I asked the question? Not that anyone will still be using that dinosaur of mobile 'phone any more...no colour screen, no internet, no email etc. ![]() Also on a related note is there any way to prevent the Cullman cradle flying out like a catapult when the passenger armrest lid is opened? ![]() It's done this since I bought the car in 2006... Thanks & kind regards, -=Glyn=- |
