Default Mini Jock meet report

Well, after arriving at 0105 Saturday morning after a horrendous journey which included a chat with the boys in blue, Ben allowed me to get some sleep before we kicked off the meet. Darren had arrived earlier that evening and after a curry and a sniff of a weak shandy had retired!

In the morning Ben and Darren got a tour of HMS ILLUSTRIOUS undergoing her refit and at lunchtime we drove over to the Two Bridges Pub in South Queensferry to meet Jim (Iceblue8) and Richard(Psyche) with their D2 S8FL and 4.2 D3 A8. First time this pub had 4 x 8s in it's car park.

After a pleasant lunch, Richard briefed the route he had chosen for the run out and it was off to Knockhill circuit to watch some prestige marques open trackday.
A bit of video for Singh.

Knockhill

The beemer sounded awesome and there were some nice bits of machinery giving it beans around the track, but an escort seemed to be king and was truly tanking it past everything!!

After that a nice little bit of back roads and bypass up to Doune Castle the setting for Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The opportunity to shout from the battlements at the silly english K'nig'its was duly taken.......

Followed of course by the obligatory photo opportunity...

Then it was some more mixed road action ending in a cool B road blast before ending the day with Curry and beer in the mess at HMS CALEDONIA.

Funnily though I had said in the morning to Darren that there would probably never be 2 8s parked outside this mess again when that evening there were 4!

A good day out. I'll try to arrange another mini jock meet in march to kick the year off.

Red face

Looks like you all had a great time, I wish it were closer as looked like lots of fun.
I've never been sure about the E46 M3 noise, it's a little metalic.. Nothing beats the sound of a Milltek'd D3 S8 (hint hint Nick) thanks for the video though!

Some great fun guys, just a shame about some of the traffic we caught on the road from Knockhill.

My pics of Camelot (sorry.. Doune Castle).

We didn't get that far out, but if it's the road I remember, then it's a good one.

Looks like you all had a good time.

we'll have to get more regional meets going.

I've just posted over on the A8OC forum, to see if anyone fancies a Leeds area meet
