Gents, I'm after a bit of advice, I just noticed the centre part of both my front calipers have gone all corroded. There's no actual problem with the braking as such, but the cars only done just over 20k miles.
Is this me being a fussy bugger or is this something I should take up with Audi? Cars a late 09 A8L so obviously still well in the 3 year warranty period, even though I bought it from an indy dealer. Here's a couple of crap pics but you get the idea: ![]() ![]() |

THey all go like that, worth having a word with the dealer to see what they say

Or buy a new part, it's the spring clip and won't be expensive. It pops off with a screwdriver as holds the pads in tight. Remove, rub down and spray silver

It can be caused by aggressive wheel cleaners as it gets sprayed through the wheel gaps but not always rinsed off.
There are some better quality Bentley ones which can replace this style of clip, maybe these.. ![]() I saw it done on a Phaeton forum. |

Oh sorry
![]() Good luck with warranty claim, but I would be gobsmacked if they replaced them, just wire brush them and paint them matt black if you can be bothered. These are very ugly callipers, so I wouldn't highlight them by using sliver paint. |
