Default d3 interior in a d2 fl?

Out of curiousity will d3 seats fit into a d2.....I presume the rears might be tricky or slightly different shape....but do the fronts have the same base?

that would be an interesting one for A8 Parts to try before they break 2 cars one day - or to try at the open day perhaps?

Why would you want too? The D2 sport seats are the best I've ever sat in. I'd be putting them in a D3 if anything.

I'd ask a similar question, but you'd also need to change memory modules and stuff. In fact, they might not go into D2 at all as they want to talk to other stuff.

Having owned all three,
The 1998 A8, with the standard seats, they were fine.
The 2004 A8L D3 was very comfortable, better than the standard D2 seats.
And now in my 2001 S8 with the sport seats, they are fine, but NOT as comfortable as the D3 seats I have to say.

I suppose if you have a narrow butt, the D2 S8 sport seats would be fine, but they are a tad bit too tight for longer trips, but fine around town, and keep you planted when "driving" the car as it's designed to be driven.

But the D3 seats are adjustable for width, and that should have been an option in the D2 sport seats.

I find D2 seats not tight enough but then again I am small bloke. One size does not fit all. I did like A6 C4 sports seats- narrower nad being fabric less slippery then leather. Quite liked MR2 seats as well- very tight and adjustable
