Default Rear suspension, full tank of fuel.

Filled the car up today ready for a run up to Hertfordshire and back in the week. I don't usually drive a lot of miles, so the last tank of fuel I put in before today was on the 4th Feb.

I have been outside today continuing to sort the annoying but minor problems with the car and noticed the rear drivers side is sitting lower than the rear passenger side and buy some amount. 90 Litres of petrol weighs in at around 14 stone, but is the tank biased towards the offside as this is the side that now seems to be sitting lower.

It should sit more or less level no matter how much fuel is in it

No, standard sports suspension as fitted to the QS.

Could be a weak spring or even a broken spring then, worth getting underneath for further investigation

I just turned the car around, just in case perhaps the ground was uneven. Parked in the same place, but now the other way round that side still sits lower. Might just get a couple of springs off A8 parts, and have a friendly mechanic fit them for me.

The offside 'leg' of the fuel tank is around twice the size of the nearside but even so I have never noticed a difference in ride height between NS and OS with a full tank. I would have a look at the spring on the low side and make sure it is all in tact - we have seen some where a small piece of the top coil has fractured off thus reducing the ride height just a little.

With my A8, I used to lean back against the boot/rear wing while filling up, I could feel the whole car getting a bit lower as I filled up, definitely
